-BASICS-
Character Name: Dirk Strider
Professor or Student?: Student
Age: 16
Year (Students only): Sixth
House: Gryffindor
Position on the Quidditch Team (Optional): Seeker
Wand type: Cherry, Dragon, 10 3/4th inches, rigid
-LOOKS-
Appearance: From his gait to the way he speaks, Dirk can easily be portrayed as someone with a slackened physique and mindset. It is only after interacting with him that one is able to observe his unknotted, lengthy limbs and mesmorphic though incredibly centered frame. He stands at a solid 6'3, having great heights run in the family. Irish blood has dusted stars across pasty skin and has raked strawberry blond strands through ungodly thick flaxen locks often seen swept to the side and lightly gelled at the tips. It's the same Irish blood that makes the guy incredibly hairy with golden body hair.
A long jaw is set with a rounded nose tipped down, cascading slightly above thin lips that pop considerably with a natural rosy stain. Golden, feminine lashes frame his waterlines and more heavily, his upper lid, softening against any harsher features of his face with a feminine kiss residing in kind eyes. These orbs, like a convoluted planet scintillating heavenly corals and sparks of saffrons gradating into gentle golden honeydews dance serenely behind tinted shades like a kindled, molten lava. That, with a slight more protruding brow done up with sharper, elongated brows, are all hidden behind his usual spectacles.
-ABOUT-
Personality (200 character minimum): Dirk can probably be easily spotted by the assumption of being jaded. Sure, to a stranger, this may stand as true, but this couldn't be anymore incorrect. Well, partially. Dirk is a guy with his morals in check. Understanding that all things pass, it allows him to become as collected as he is seen when, though unspoken, small worries and a constant train of thought, neither aggressive or too passive, is always flooding his being. Not too many emotion or personality shines all too much, neither is one over the other, but it certainly doesn't make Dirk a boring person. His humor is strange and his interests are scattered, but he's a good guy. Speech wise, he's sure to be able to back up any of his points and is more seemingly logical and assured before saying a word. Growing up on competition and aspiration, his actions, when pushed, can be, well, not so logical as his words. No, he's not one to "lash out" or throw a fit of any sort. Despite this, basically anything in his mind is nowhere near gratuitous. If anything, he finds it all too easy, when he's not taking the lead or leading too much, to put the blame of any sort onto his own shoulders. Given his running thoughts, these thoughts often turn sour and in concern. Self hatred, even, if we were to take it that far. This feeling of loathing is not something unfamiliar to him, and he takes it as it is, as it is easier for his reasonings to end up with this than anything else. He's never been pompous, though acting like it is so much easier and is a resort for his actual feelings he often overlooks himself.
Even more so, given his "stoic" persona, he's more inclined to haggle it down and manipulate a situation away from others eyeing him about himself. He's able to say things the way they are and give responsibility to others, unconsciously taking the lead with multitasking and understanding. It's somewhere between empathy and sympathy that he speaks and connects to things with, but more in his own way can he either drive a conversation into the ground or lighten it considerably, knowing that he did so or otherwise. When consulting him, Dirk is always able to stabilize a situation with an acquaintance, but for someone who has known him for long enough, it's a bit harder to tell when he's personally adjusted to said other rather than his usual openness, but in any case, it's hard for him to know when to open his mouth and when not to. See, when he does open his mouth, it comes out as boundless things he could spray onto someone else, no matter what he is feeling. In no way is Dirk a close-minded person, either. Even if he is not the most passive nor aggressive person, if something is wrong or asked of him, he will be, in his vocabulary, up consulting that shit. Dirk does what he believes to be is right and is concrete in what he does.
Background: Every year, his Bro sent him off to Hogwarts along with his actual brother, rather his twin, Dave. Hal too had followed suit, and the three practiced magic at home. Bro, realizing this, had taught them how to fly at a young age, Dirk taking an especially deep interest in it, especially in the adrenaline rush involved, and would practice in his free time. Growing up, Dirk would only really acknowledge his brothers when they would consult him, and even then he allowed himself to grow up rather individually. Sure, it's probably made him insecure and self loathing, but Dirk has always been sort of alright with his circumstances. He found no reason to speak out, as he was well off for the most part, and did what was asked of him. In all honesty, he was more amazed by his puppets and robots as a child. It was only until his teen years did he begin to form his own entity and bond with his brothers, even if this went mostly unspoken and hushed. Nothing was really "spoken of" in his family, though so many things would be questioned of their family in the eyes of an outsider.
Dirk has been close friends with Jane, Jake, and Roxy since his first year. They were indeed the inseparable quartet despite the different houses and classes. They'd make sure to contact each other over skype when outside of school and would, of course, run off to explore and break rules when the feeling of rebellion came onto the four. Everything just worked and everything mainly stayed equal among their differentiating personalities, though it has only been lately that he finds it harder to respond to English and from what has been observed, it has been the same way on his side. The more the two males grew on each other, the harder it was on their friendship for some "inexplicable" reasons too frustrating for the both of them.
